The Pliocene epoch
Research
The Pliocene epoch was 2.7 million years long was very cold which was odd because the time before it was the Miocene time was very warm and, the vegetation changed a lot during the Pliocene epoch. This time was important because ice caps formed and the Mediterranean drained, so no water was in the sea. The warmest time in the Epoch was in the middle.
research now
Some animals that lived during this epoch were the woolly mammoth, mastodons, and giant ground sloths
Extra Research
During this time North America touched South America for the first time at a place called the Isthmus of Panama.
Also, some apes started to live in savannas not. Trees and a lot of forests turned in to savannas.
Fun facts
Well fun to me
It was called an Ice Age because of how cold it was!
The Pliocene epoch ending is unclear because some say climate change, human hunting, or the Cascadian revolution
The type of human that lived during this time were the Homo erectus
